About
I am a psychotherapist who works in-person with clients in my eastside private practice in Los Angeles. I additionally offer telehealth appointments for residents of California and Montana. I earned a Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University in NYC, and I provide sessions for individuals (adults and teens) and couples, as well as EMDR. I love therapy, both as a clinician and client myself.
I am a big fan of all types of storytelling, the stories we tell ourselves, and uncovering the ways these narratives have helped or harmed us. I also love music. I have 16 years of experience working in the entertainment industry, which lends to my practice with clients in artistic and creative careers. I believe in the importance of continued education, both for myself and my clients, as this is another way to explore our interests and keep engagement with novel experiences. I also believe in the importance of getting out into nature after having hiked the Pacific Crest Trail in 2016, which changed the course of my life.
Approach
I have been described as grounded, accessible, discerning, and caring. My sessions are often conversational and my approach is pluralistic, which means I’m responsive to who you are and find myself engaging in creative solutions which pull from a variety of orientations to fit your needs. I work psychodynamically (another way of saying that I recognize the influence our past has on our here and now) and utilize the following lenses: Feminist, Humanistic, CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Informed, Culturally Sensitive, Attachment-Based, and Strength-Based. I additionally offer EMDR and walking sessions for those interested. I strive to always be mindful, nonjudgmental, and a fierce advocate for you. I am non-pathologizing, neurodiversity-affirming, LGBTQ+ affirmative, and respect the inherent wisdom of my clients’ experiences. I welcome all backgrounds, abilities, ethnicities, religions, races, body sizes, relationships, lifestyles, orientations, and gender identities, and I align my work with Health at Every Size (HAES) principles.
One of my goals is to help my clients tolerate the unpredictable flow of both enjoyable and difficult emotions. I hope to collaborate with you to highlight your innate and learned resources, bring into focus your throughlines and patterns, and grow your feelings of authenticity in relationships and everyday life. Effective psychotherapy is neither a quick fix nor a magic pill. It is a process and requires participation and commitment from both the therapist and the client. That written, we’ll always have greater chances for success if our therapeutic relationship is strong. For me to expect you to show up to sessions authentically, I have to do so myself. In service of this co-created relationship, I provide honest, compassionate and direct feedback. I bring my personality, a sense of humor, and active curiosity to our sessions.
I tend to work best with clients who are committed to the therapeutic process, curious about themselves, who aim to increase their self-awareness, are open-minded, and self-reflective. If you’re interested in scheduling a free initial consultation to see if we’d be a good fit to work together, you can reach me at the CONTACT page. I love my job and would be glad to answer any questions you may have!
